Springtime in Utah

Our whole family always eagerly await Spring, especially after a long, cold, snowy winter like we had (read "are still suffering through). We watch the strip of ground in front of the sidewalk obsessively, waiting for the first green shoots to poke their heads up. Then we know, it won't be long...
When the apricot tree blooms, we can't wait to taste the sweet, juicy fruit that will come in July...
One day, the Forsythia's are bare and gangly, the next, they burst into color, and we all laugh about the time Buppa fell into the ditch while pruning the bush at our old house.


And now, for all our friends who live in the glorious South, a glimpse of the "Spring" that we endure. While y'all are opening your windows, complaining about the heat, and getting sunburned, we have to pull out the boots again!

Yes, those are actual icicles hanging off the blossoms!
Actually, this pic doesn't do our suffering justice. Yesterday, we had at least 6 inches on the ground. You cold barely see the flowers at all.
This poor little fat robin had snowflakes stuck to her beak and eyes. As much as I hate the snow, it did make for a really cool picture!
